What is your company’s mission?
PHAR brings together experienced methodologists and trained clinicians to produce high-quality real-world evidence that unlocks the hidden value of our clients’ innovative products.
What products and services do you offer?
PHAR offers health economics and outcomes research, focusing on secondary data analysis (including data from commercial claims, Medicare, SEER and other sources), primary data collection (including medical chart reviews and surveys), economic modeling and evidence synthesis (literature reviews, meta-analyses and Delphi panels).
What problems do you solve?
Our team of highly trained clinicians and methodologists loves new challenges. We help our clients strategize about what kinds of HEOR studies they need to do and how best to do them. We use our experience to guide clients to the most effective solutions — whether that’s finding a novel data source or using an advanced statistical technique.
What are the most innovative tools and technologies that you offer?
GRAPHx© proves that a picture is worth a thousand words. This tool uses images to display medical histories for thousands of patients at a glance. We developed this tool after working with countless clients wanting to get the “big picture” of complex patterns of treatment. GRAPHx© images allow the viewer to understand these patterns without having to wade through pages of text or dozens of tables.
What are your competitive advantages?
Every project is led by one of our senior level researchers, each of whom have 10-30 years of experience. We will never pass your project on to someone too junior to have been down the same road many times before. Our customer retention is very high — almost 20 years after our founding, many of our clients can be traced back to our first years. There are only 15 of us, but our small size is a strength. We are nimble and responsive to client needs. We bring an unmatched level of clinical experience to our work with 3 physicians and 2 pharmacists among our 10 most senior staff.
Who are your clients?
We collaborate with companies across the life science industry, including 8 of the 10 biggest pharmaceutical companies. We pride ourselves on the fact that our first client from 2004 still works with us today.
What new products and services are you developing in 2022?
PHAR is continuing to develop a new technique to allow us to easily aggregate data from multiple disparate sources. We hope it will be particularly useful to answer real-world questions about uncommon conditions.
Where are your laboratories and offices located?
We have our main office in Beverly Hills and additional locations in Cambridge (MA) and San Francisco. We work with clients and clinical experts across the country and the globe.
